The Prudent Practices for Investment Stewards and Investment Advisors (New Zealand Edition) handbook features the same Practices and Criteria as the U.S. editions of the handbooks for Investment Stewards and Investment Advisors, but with New Zealand-specific legal substantiations and text.
There also is a corresponding Self-assessment of Fiduciary Excellence for Investment Stewards and Investment Advisors (New Zealand Edition). This is a short questionnaire based on the Practices that tests how well an Investment Steward or Advisor conforms to the Practices.
All twenty-one Practices are substantiated by legislation and case law from:
- Trustee Act of 1956
- Superannuation Schemes Act of 1989
- Investment Advisers (Disclosure) Act of 1996
